Setting up the ponds!

At last I am getting started on my railway. I have planned out where the ponds are going to be and the waterfall etc. If it turns out like how I want, it will really be nice.
  I will be putting the fairy village around and down along the waterfall and ponds. It will really make it nice, I think. I am also planning out the beginning of of the railway line. At least where it will run down one size of the garden. I have so much I want to put into the area it will need to be planned out nicely. A lot of work and I have new garden beds to set up this year.
  I just wish I knew how to get rid of quack grass, and not kill off everything else. Any Ideas??? let me know if you do...

Planning stage!

There is so much to conceder when planning a layout. It's not just I have x amount of space, so put the track here, here, and here. It's everything else. Where to put the other elements like towns, building, trees and landscaping. Tunnels and bridges, waterfalls and ponds. I have a very large space and this spring, as soon as the ground thaws I will be digging the holes for the ponds and building up the waterfall. I can't wait to get started, but it snowed again. Just a reminder that spring isn't here yet. lol.

So I'm at the drawing board and trying to set up where I want things to go and do the track layout. I will have a train soon, and that should make it lots of fun getting it started.

So... where do I want that tunnel to go?

Waiting for Spring!

  I won't just be doing nothing, as I wait for spring, but will be planning the layout of the rails.

I will also be planning the different sites, that will be along the trains course. As the name implies, it will be celtic Irish, Fantasy, and a touch of old fashion whimsy. I will create with-in the rules, but will work more toward the fantasy then reality. After all if Disney can do it, so can I.

  I need to make a list of what I'd like to see along the route. Then I can get a better idea of where the train will go and how. No matter what the train will have lights, sound and smoke. I want a pond {and have the kit already, with a waterfall included}, a bridge {have that too}, and lots of interesting sites to see along the route. There will be tunnels, bridges, switches,grades {incline}, and so much more.

  Leave me a comment with your ideas. Your idea might be better then mine.

about half way on the left side of the garden you will find this....

It is a miniature honeysuckle bush. It's about 20 years old and still growing. At the base is an old bath tub I sunk into the ground. A long time ago, I use to fill it and sit in it after the water had warmed up a bit. Water comes from 225 feet down. That was fun but as you can see now, you would have to crawl under the bush to get in it. lol.

Where that green tarp is is a kind of built up mound. Not to high, use to have roses, but they were the first to die. Could be an incline or a waterfall area.
