Waterfall #2

I like the way this has turned out and now I will have my water garden for my water Irises, as well as a few other plants. I like the way it turned out although it's going to be hell to pay to move the bottom ledge when I have to replace the pond liner.
Still it will be worth the work, as most of it won't have to be moved or disturbed. Take a look and tell me what you think?

Still a lot of work to be done out there but more is done then needs to be done. That is something! I really hate to think about what it will be like after this winter.

Taking a ride....

on a lettuce leaf. If you look close there is a little toad taking a ride on this water lettuce leaf in my pond. To cute!

And now there are fish!

I can't believe how truly generous some people are. I have been pushing myself way beyond any sane limits trying to finish my Koi pond, as someone very generously offered me some fish for my pond.
Today we transferred them from in town out to my place.
I just can't believe how big these Koi are, as well as the gold fish that came along with the rest. We are not done yet but the big ones are here and loving life, swimming from one end to the other. The smaller ones will come out a little later on. So take a look at these beautiful fish. I guess sometimes good things still do happen when you try so hard to make others feel good and live your life in a kind an considerate way. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I never thought I'd make it!

But at long last the pond has water... and the fish will be moving in tomorrow. There is still a lot of work to be done but...at least the fish will have a new home. Now I need to rest a bit.... I'm really tired.

And the last of the long haul.

I never thought I would get this done this soon.... but short of moving a few rocks and laying the liner.... The fish will have a new home very soon. So here is what it looks like now.

Of course the fun part will be trying to lay the track around the fish pond. I have no idea how that is going to work. I still have a lot of rock to move from around the pond, but then I can start to finish the flower beds etc. that I want to add.
That's a lot of rock, and I am so glad it's done.

I grew the best crop ever!

Of rocks that is. lol. I finally found some one who was reliable and did a good days work for the pay, and now I have a crop of rocks to show for it.
Actually, at long last the koi pond has been dug to it's proper depth, and in the process these "boulders" where removed from up out of the pond. There are two that where so big they couldn't be moved and no way where they going to be lifted out of that 3 and a half foot hole. see what I mean

You are looking down on them from on top of the rock and dirt pile, down into the 3 ' and some hole. Needless to say they were big.
The rest of the pictures are of what all that hard work created, from the waterfall end, to the other end of the big pond that now measures 61/2'W X 12'L X 3' deep.

I still have a little more digging to do, but for the most part, it is almost complete, and I am tired, and very very glad I had someone I could rely on to do a really good day works, and help me get this job done.
In about a week I will have a collection of large koi and goldfish who will be coming to live in this pond, as someone has most generously given me these fish to live in my pond and fulfill a dream of mine to have a koi/goldfish pond. I can't wait to finish it all up and add the plants and flower beds around here and there and my wonderful Chinese water dragon that will live in the center of the pond and spit water out his month.
I can hardly believe it is coming into being and I will have this wonderful pond/waterfall/fish to enjoy. Oh didn't I tell you now there will be another waterfall on the other end of the pond?
I collected quite a few tadpoles out of the bottom of the liner before we pulled it up as I have had a wonderful collection of toads and frogs that moved in last year. Now I will have even more to hop around and enjoy watching them about the pond. The birds love the waterfall, and take baths as well as drink out of it. There is nothing like the sound of a waterfall, to calm the nerves, and sooth the wounded spirit. I'll post more pictures when it's all done, but for now... I just had to share the culmination of a long days work.
I'm so tired I am falling asleep at the keyboard, so enjoy, and let me know what you think?

The garden is in!

And it's already coming up in the green houses. I still have lots to do out there, but at least I'll have garden fresh vegetables. Next is digging the pond deeper. {And I'm not looking forward to that at all.}  I had to send the Mantis back to be fixed. So when it comes back, I'll start on the rest of it. {and that's a lot}. But maybe this year I'll get part of the track laid. Won't that be great? lol.

I think it's spring!

At least the sun was shining today. I have already started work outside. It will be a big push to try to get it all done but, it was a good start today.
Worked my way thought one of the little sheds. Pulled everything out and then moved in 12 {6 on each side of the shed} drawers, stacked 2 high, on each side. Two tall bookcases on one end and a bookcase and a chest of drawers on the other finished the sides. There is a row of tubs down the middle, full of doll furniture and some dolls. It was a very long day and am I tired. But there is still room in the drawers to move some of the stuff out of the house. This sorting takes for ever, but at least now I can get into everything, and hopefully find what I need and not have to lift heavy tubs. Emptied out two big tubs and a lot of boxes. I still have about 12 drawers left to line another shed, but if my back hurts as bad tomorrow as it does right now, I'll not get much done.
I am finding things I lost, but not all of what I am looking for.
I got a bright idea about the greenhouses, for when they get to hot. I had some plastic leaf covered fences, and draped them over the roofs, three across for each green house. It worked. Now at least when it gets to hot, everything won't burn up.
The pond had water and ice in it all winter, now I need to clean it out and start the digging, to get it down another two feet. I surely hope I can find someone who would be interested in doing the digging. The fish need to be out in bigger deeper waters.
The railway, just may get some track laid this summer, if I can get the rest of the work finished in time. I want to plant a garden, and hope I will be able to.
Still more work then I need right now, but I did pull out the hammock and found a likely spot to hang it. lol. If I could only learn to just stop for a while and enjoy the wonderful sunshine. Tomorrow it might rain. lol.
